Week 26 to 27th week or something

Right back to this blog business again. I don't really know what to say other than my shoot went really well and I got everything in the can.

The only day I had trouble with was the 4th day where I had slightly overscheduled but that didn't matter as I just rescheduled it for the following night which the crew were happy with. So yay.

Into the edit now. Finally finished a rough cut. Struggling with a couple of scenes in terms of how to cut them from which characters perspective. Also there is dialogue issues which, I will have to clean up with ADR but no biggie as they are Tims lines and he didn't have to head back to wellington so thank fuck for that.

Trying my best to make this film as good as It can be but when your on limited time and have a very limited budget it Is hard to make high quality films that can compete against the shit that comes out of the fresh shorts programme oh well I guess my film isn't KIWI enough. Obviously needs more rugby and some kid being beaten up by his family. Or some hipster bullshit from Wellington.

Rant over.

Here is a Still from my film.

Here is another Still from Still Is the Night.

Week 23, 24 and 25? or some shit I have no idea

It has been three or so weeks since I last blogged. Been far to busy working on everyone elses films and trying to organise my own.

Everything has gone well so far. The performances are spot on. The Mis en Scene is perfect. The Cinematography is beautiful and it is coming together well.

Last day of shoot today and then I can start editing. Really looking forward to the editing process. The dream of making this film has haunted me since new years and it is finally a reality. In the words of Tim Immortalised on film, celluloid or digital or whatever. Forever.

Working with the actors has by far been the most fun I have had all year. Playing with the script. changing lines and adlibing on the spot has been very experimental and creative and the way I most like to work.

Having such high calibre actors for this project has certainly helped my confidence in directing and my confidence with the material of the script.

So finally a positive note in a blog.

Bye see you next week maybe
